SCORING SYSTEM

THE GOAL: MAKE EXERCISES COMPARABLE

We developed our Scoring System so that people could compete with one another across every type of exercise, without having to get all scientific about it (no heart-monitors required!)

KEEP IT SIMPLE

At TFL, we make logging workouts as simple as possible: just enter an exercise type and a quantity. For example, “Crossfit, 60 minutes”. No “pace” or “power” or “weight per rep” or “caloric output”… You can track that stuff on your own, but it’s not required for our games

 

REWARD EFFORT, NOT ABILITY

Here’s what we discovered: if competition is based on fitness ability (how much you can lift or how fast you can run), then you know who will win the league before it starts. That’s no fun. Instead, we reward effort: how often are you exercising, are you performing challenging workouts? Etc.

 

FOUR CATEGORIES

Every workout is scored across our four Categories. At the end of the week, your totals across the Categories will determine how you do in the weekly competition

DAYS & VARIETY

Days measures your consistency. Variety ensures that the exercises you’re doing are varied enough to maintain mental and physical excitement

CARDIO & STRENGTH

Ask any trainer: a balance of cardio and strength-work is key to physical fitness. We measure Cardio in minutes and Strength in sets
